Diagnostic Evaluation

Diagnostic Evaluations

New patient diagnostic evaluations are typically 60 minutes. During this evaluation, your provider will perform and in- depth assessment and medication review to determine the right treatment plan.

New client evaluations are an anxiety producing event for most patients and families. It is fear of the unknown. Stepping into a new client evaluation is a new environment, a new face, a new system and new expectations.

Your provider will work directly with you, utilizing a collaborative approach to come up with a treatment plan that meets your needs and is appropriate for the situation.

Diagnostic evaluations are performed by our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and our Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioners. We are masters prepared providers who have acquired appropriate training to provide mental healthcare services to individuals, including adults and children, and families with drug abuse problem, psychiatric disorders or organic brain disorders.

Medicaion Management

Medication Management

Our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) are trained to develop treatment plans that will meet the needs of you or your family member. This treatment plan may include medications, behavioral strategies, therapy and/or referral to other providers, when necessary.

As many psychiatric conditions have an underlying biological basis, medications are often an important component of treating certain illnesses. Because research continues to demonstrate that medication management and therapy are most effective when combined, we incorporate supportive therapy into all treatment plans.

At each follow-up appointment, we will evaluate the effectiveness of the medication along with your current symptoms, goals and coping strategies. We will discuss any  concerns you may have regarding your medication or treatment plan. These appointments generally last around 20 minutes, but may be shorter or longer depending on need.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy

If you’re living with a mental health issue or going through a tough time, you may benefit from psychotherapy sessions. At Arbor Psychiatric & Wellness Center, our Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioners, Pam Bennett and Jessica Eckhardt, provide psychotherapy sessions.

Psychotherapy, also referred to as talk therapy or counseling, is a method of treating a wide range of mental health illnesses and emotional issues. During a psychotherapy session, you and your provider explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You learn about your condition and develop coping techniques and strategies to deal with challenging situations and intrusive negative thoughts.

At Arbor Psychiatric & Wellness Center, our therapists offer psychotherapy for:

  • Individuals including children over 13, adults, and elderly

  • Families

  • Couples

We are committed to providing the best possible care to all patients and helping everyone to improve their mental health and quality of life.

Skilled Nursing Facilities

Skilled Nursing Facilities

At some point, support from family, friends and community programs may not be enough to keep an individual who is aging or experiencing chronic health issues in their home. This may require them to enter into assisted living or skilled nursing facilities. Many individuals will find this transition difficult or may suffer from

pre-existing mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, or dementia.

Our PMHNPs and psychotherapist have a passion for serving these individuals. We currently partner with several facilities in the southeast Nebraska area to provide regular care to these residents at their home.
